"I've always been clear about my ultimate career aspirations. The business has allowed me to continue my personal progress and deliver for the business."
What makes you, you?
I’m writing a science fiction novel that includes a political back story and new technology. You need careful planning and clarity to do something like that. My job has been great preparation!
What’s the best thing about working here?
The people. We’re a big, big team that does some very complicated things. I interact with thousands of people on a global scale in multiple languages and contexts. It’s a fantastic education in global life.
What are your highlights?
Both my degrees are in research-based molecular biology, but manufacturing allows me to see tangible results on a day-to-day basis. I also wanted to lead people - and I've certainly done that. I've had nine different roles, at four manufacturing sites, in four different disciplines, in primary and secondary manufacture, across various operations. This included a secondment to the CEO’s future strategy group. I’ve also been to Africa for a six-month PULSE assignment.
How have we supported your development?
I've always been clear about my ultimate career aspirations. The business has allowed me to continue my personal progress and deliver for the business. Senior individuals have always been available to offer advice, encouragement and sponsorship. It’s highly motivating when people I respect and admire give their valuable time to help me maximise my potential.
What would you say to someone thinking of joining us?
Working here is like joining the government of a small country! There’s so much scope, so many different challenges and opportunities.
