Fundamental to all our businesses, you could find yourself undertaking a wide variety of tasks for example controlling budgets and expenditure, covering the governance of change within projects, resourcing, fulfilling contractual requirements and interfacing with our customers. You'll also review performance, analyse risks and take decisions to optimise project success. To succeed in this area, you’ll need to have a minimum 2:1 Bachelor's degree in any subject for our graduate scheme. In addition, you need to be eligible to work in the UK and be able to successfully achieve security clearance. In terms of personal qualities, you’ll also need to have an analytical mind and a highly methodical approach your work. A confident communicator, you’ll also know how to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and have the drive and determination to see task through to completion. Military Air and Information: Our business designs, manufactures and supports some of the most advanced military aircraft in the world. As well as working with the UK's Ministry of Defence, we supply products and support services to customers in over 30 countries across the globe. Join us as a project management graduate in Warton/Samlesbury and you'll be set challenging but rewarding targets that will ensure you go far within the challenging project management environment.
Maritime Services: Maritime Services delivers end-to-end services and support to over half of the Royal Navy’s Surface Fleet. You could join over 3,500 employees across our UK sites and help deliver a range of services. We are proud to support the Royal Navy and provide everything they need to live and work at Portsmouth Naval Base. Naval Ships: Join us and you’ll have the opportunity to work for a business which is involved with some of the largest engineering projects in the UK. We have teams working on the Royal Navy’s two new Aircraft Carriers, HMS Queen Elizabeth and HMS Prince of Wales, which will be the backbone of the UK fleet for decades to come. We have also recently delivered the advanced Type 45 destroyers and our work is already underway on the Type 26 Global Combat Ship. You could play a vital role in ensuring that these huge projects which attract wide scale media attention are successfully promoted and celebrated across the country thus developing and strengthening the reputation of our business and brand. Likewise, you could be pivotal in ensuring that a 6,000 strong workforce get timely, accurate and meaningful communications from the business when it matters.
Submarines: Working with our team you'll join a group of experts who have been responsible for building every submarine currently in service with the Royal Navy. Your specialist knowledge will come to the fore when it comes to providing professional electrical design capability, supporting test and trials analysis to ensure the equipment meets the original design intent and being actively involved in concept design.
This two year scheme develops people who are passionate about and show great potential in their chosen field. Graduate opportunities are available at Military Air and Information - Samlesbury/ Warton, Submarines - Frimley/ Barrow-in-Furness, Maritime Services - Portsmouth (Broad Oak) and Naval Ships - New Malden/ Filton . Through a mix of study and on-the-job training in multiple placements, you’ll steadily acquire the skills and experience needed to become a Project Management professional. The starting salary is £28,000 for this programme. While on the scheme you’ll also receive regular salary and performance reviews.
