The BUUK Graduate Programme provides a development framework, leading to a fulfilling and exciting career.
Alongside the best in the industry, our graduates make a significant contribution and a big difference – often working on projects with the potential to transform the utilities infrastructure landscape.
“Everyone around me supports me and encourages me to push myself further.” Ruby, Graduate
We have schemes for Engineering, Finance, Commercial, IT and Sales graduates. Our two-year scheme involves rotations where graduates will be working within multiple departments and businesses within the group.
Throughout the scheme, graduates are supported by the business and the BUUK people around them. We assign each graduate a mentor throughout the scheme who will support them in their career journey. A mentor has received additional training to prepare them to act as a guide for professional development and career advice.
The technical development of our graduates is well supported – through on-the-job, practical experiences and placements.
We also support their professional development, combining classroom-led training courses, online training courses and structured networking opportunities with scheme alumni.
Qualification to Incorporated or Chartered Level is the goal for all our graduates. BUUK Graduate Engineers attain the professional status of Incorporated Engineer within three years, and Chartered Engineer within five years with a relevant engineering institution accredited by the Engineering Council.
Finance Graduates work towards achieving the Association of Chartered Certified Accounting (ACCA) status or the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) status.
