Job Description

Siemens Healthineers has a fantastic opportunity for a team of 12-month placement students to join our innovative Engineering team beginning in June-July 2023 at Siemens Healthineers Magnet Technology in Eynsham, near Oxford. These full-time Manufacturing Engineering Intern roles offer an excellent internship salary and a flexible and vibrant environment to stretch beyond your comfort zone to grow personally and professionally.

As an attentive and dedicated Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will support the manufacturing engineering team to deliver high-quality and innovative solutions to magnet production challenges.

You will also be expected to technically understand complex manufacturing issues, develop innovative engineering or process solutions and then deploy them, under supervision, to improve the performance of the product or manufacturing facility. Please note that this internship will take place over 12 months, starting in June-July 2023.

To give you an idea of how this manufacturing engineering internship would look and feel, here are some things you could expect to do:

• Gain an in-depth insight into manufacturing operations at a modern high-tech facility
• Take on various challenges and opportunities, including new product development/introduction, facility development, new test processes, quality improvements, waste reductions, tooling/plant development and general process improvements
• Experience first-hand the challenges faced by today’s design and manufacturing sector

To apply for this manufacturing engineering internship role, you will need to be studying towards a degree in engineering (mechanical, electronics/electrical, materials), manufacturing or physics and working towards achieving a 2.1 or above and looking to complete a summer placement as part of your degree. You will also require the following:

• Good analytical skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Outstanding problem-solving and reasoning skills
• The capability of learning and retaining new skills
