We are a fast growing, multi-national group that provides a variety of specialist engineering skills across a number of projects within MBDA to ensure our products are fit for purpose and delivered on time and to cost. As the complexity of the battlefield increases, so too do our customers’ capability needs! Consequently, we have evolved to provide the necessary expertise across a large range of weapon system aspects, much wider than just the missile itself.

Within the Weapon Systems ‘group’, the Command and Control (C2) department provides world class air-defence C2 Sub-systems for MBDA Land and Naval weapon systems. The C2 Sub-system is the heart and brains of the weapon system. It has to understand the threats to the protected assets, then plan and manage engagements against those threats in a complex and changing environment.

"The point of an internship is for you to learn"

Alice Baird, Systems Test Analyst, describes what you can expect from an internship with MBDA. Find out what Alice got up to, and what she got out of it! To watch the full Gradcracker/MBDA webinar, click here.

The main skills in the C2 department lie in the System Engineering domain, including activities such as:

  • System Architecture
  • Product Line Engineering
  • Software & Hardware Specifications
  • Weapon System Algorithms
  • Sub-system Verification & Validation
