How long is the scheme?

The Commercial Graduate Scheme at Arla is 2 years in duration.

How many rotations will there be?

The scheme consists of three business rotations, each lasting approximately 8 months. These rotations will provide you with comprehensive exposure across both our Marketing and Sales functions. You will work alongside and support our customer-facing national accounts teams within our retail and food service business units, as well as gain experience in areas such as category management, shopper marketing, demand planning, and brand management. You will also have the opportunity to support brand teams in implementing brand plans, launching new products to market, and collaborating with marketing agencies.

What functional expertise will I learn?

As part of a network of graduates within Arla, you will take part in a number of internal and external training events throughout the programme to develop your leadership, professional, and commercial acumen skills. You will be assigned a mentor and have a strong individual development plan. Additionally, you will participate in the Arla Sales Academy and have opportunities for Marketing apprenticeships and potential CIM affiliations.

What experience will I get?

You will receive first-hand, on-the-job training in fast-paced, customer-facing environments at the forefront of the business. You will work cross-functionally, form strong relationships internally and externally, and be involved in key business decisions. Your experience will span both sales and marketing disciplines, giving you a holistic overview of Arla's commercial operations.

What will happen at the end of the scheme?

After successfully completing the programme, you will have gained invaluable experience working for one of the largest FMCG businesses in the UK. You will have a full overview of both the commercial and marketing functions within Arla, and will be ready to move into a permanent role within the team - ideally placed as a National Account Executive, Assistant Brand Manager, or Entry Brand Manager.

Am I right for the role?

We look for candidates who are educated to degree level having achieved at least a 2:1 in any STEM discipline with 300 UCAS points. You will be ambitious and motivated with a strong desire to build a career within commercial or marketing, and the food industry.

You will display excellent communication skills and will be comfortable interacting with a range of stakeholders at different levels, relationships building is one of your key strengths. Strong organisational and project management skills are crucial as well as a keen eye for detail. Finally you will be highly computer-literate and will be able to use these skills to analyse data and build presentations.
