Graduate Emissions Testing Specialist

We have an exciting opportunity for a graduate to join our Regional Emissions Testing Team. This role will enable you to gain a high level of knowledge of automotive emissions testing methods and equipment, as well as an in-depth understanding of the technology and processes used within the industry. We are looking for a talented individual who, with training and guidance from our existing experts, can gain the skills and experience necessary to become a specialist in this field, providing technical support to our various testing teams at other sites within the European region and beyond.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to aid the operations of testing teams across the European region and beyond.
  • Assist in fault finding and problem-solving activities and implementation of best practice.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support implementation.
  • Coach laboratory staff in all aspects of laboratory operations.
  • Assist in definition of new testing methods and transfer new test methods to other laboratories.
  • Assist in definition of new equipment specifications and then support installation and commissioning on site.

Are you the ideal candidate?

  • A scientific Degree or PhD in the field of Mechanical/Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent; prior work experience in a testing laboratory environment would be a significant advantage.
  • The ability to interpret complex scientific data and functional test results, prior experience in the use of statistics to for data analysis or with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab would be a significant advantage.
  • Experience of fault finding and problem solving.
  • Strong attention to detail, as well as excellent organisational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to an advanced level.
