As part of the Delivery team for the RAF A400M in-service support contract at Brize Norton, this internship offers a unique opportunity to be part of the operational backbone of a major defense contract. You will support the Head of Operational Excellence and Business Management in ensuring the department runs smoothly, remains compliant, and maintains high standards of corporate governance.

This role is ideal for a student interested in organizational management and corporate governance.

What you will be doing:

In this placement, you will provide high-level support across the governance, strategy, and sustainability functions of the business.

Your core responsibilities will include:

Corporate Governance & Compliance;

• Support in the preparation of professional Board and Committees Packs;
• Support the maintenance of subsidiary entity records and assist in organizing documentation for annual compliance audits (ICSA);
• Support the monitoring of enterprise risk management;
• Assist in maintaining compliance with corporate ethics and regulatory standards.

Strategic Support to Business;

• Provide direct assistance to the Head of Support Centre and Head of Business Management in the day-to-day execution of business objectives and departmental priorities;
• Lead the collation, formatting, and design of high-quality presentation packs for senior leadership as part of AMUK Governance;
• Assist in tracking the progress of key business initiatives, ensuring milestones are met and reporting any blockers to leadership;
• Help in preparing briefing notes and background research to support the Head of Support Centre and Head of Business Management in strategic decision-making;
• Serve as the central point of contact for onsite interns, managing the coordination of group activities and professional development opportunities. 

ESG Strategy & Communications;

• Support the development and rollout of the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy, helping to embed sustainability and social responsibility into the company culture;
• Assist in crafting internal and external communications that translate ESG goals and business updates into clear, engaging messaging for the wider team;
• Support gathering departmental data (e.g., energy usage, diversity metrics) to support ESG reporting and audit readiness.

Business Management & Analytics;

• Act as a junior lead for Business Support improvement initiatives;
• Maintain AMUK Corporate Governance and Business Support dashboards and BI tools, ensuring data accuracy, including but not limited to procurement plans;
• Support the Heads of Business Management and Support Centre by gathering and analyzing data to identify trends, anomalies, and performance drivers.

Events, Reporting and Onboarding;

• Support the planning and execution of internal corporate events, high-profile meetings, and team engagement activities;
• Manage the end-to-end induction process for new starters, including the preparation of onboarding materials and scheduling induction sessions;
• Support in the seamless information flow within the delivery team and AMUK Ltd through organized document management and proactive communication.

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Studying towards a degree in Business Management or equivalent;
• Knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft tools for editing, preparing presentations, analyzing data, and creating charts is advantageous;
• You must be confident, proactive, and self-motivating, and able to work with minimal supervision;
• Good personal communication skills, both spoken and written, are essential;
• Having a UK driving licence and having access to a car would be beneficial.
