Filton Plant Operations Placement (12 months)

An exciting internship has become available within the Operations team at Airbus Filton Plant. Our department is dedicated to providing the manufacture and assembly of A400M Wing, the A350 Equipped Gear Beam, and the operations within the Wing Technology Development Centre at Filton. Our purpose is to make it fly, on time, cost and quality.

As an operations intern, you will be supporting the head of production to help deliver key initiatives through collaboration with Shopfloor leaders and other support functions in order to increase and maximise the Operational Performance of the plant. 

What you will be doing:

• Operational Support: Assist with day-to-day shop floor activities, rate changes, and operator involvement schemes;
• Project Management: Work with cross-functional teams (procurement, logistics, quality, and design) to improve production efficiencies;
• Supports shop floor managers to deliver safety projects and routines and assist controllers in driving and documenting Health, Safety, and Environmental improvement projects;
• Help operations integration managers to identify trends in performance and support the delivery of  improvement plans to maximise build through key Safety & Quality factors that impact operations;
• Digitalisation of Operations: Supporting the toll out of digitisation of tracking tools for manufacturing (e.g., A400M work content trackers) to upskill the workforce on digital tools.

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

• Studying towards a degree in Business, Engineering, a Technical field, or equivalent;
• The ability to communicate effectively;
• The ability to collate robust and informative presentations;

• An interest in coding and digital tools;
• A strong interest in self-development;
• The desire to work in an open and trusting environment.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
