Project Management Placement (12.5 months)

Programme Management is at the heart of delivering real added value to the Airbus business. It is essential in delivering  innovative products to our customers in an agreed timescale, within an allocated budget, and to the highest of quality standards. 

This role is within the Project Management office supporting our Value Stream Management teams, working alongside our programme leaders. 

The Value Stream Management teams in Broughton are currently in the midst of the most exciting ramp up phase and associated projects of a generation! The VSMs are responsible for maintaining the flow of method, man and materials from the supply chain all the way through to Final Operational Test on the Final Assembly Lines.

What you will be doing:

You will learn to deploy Best Practice project management methods and tools within our programmes, projects and functions. This could include:

• Agile and waterfall project set up;
• Project maturity and governance including lessons learnt;
• Integrated schedule planning;
• Baselining projects and identifying critical path activities;
• Risk and opportunity management;
• Creating and maintaining digital project monitoring and control processes (digital data analysis etc.);
• Finance monitoring and control.

You will be working alongside multi functional team members on a day to day basis, ensuring all team members are delivering on time, on cost and on quality as well as understanding how each function contributes to project success.

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

This role will involve working in areas which require stakeholder, brand and reputation management and involvement with internal and external audiences.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Currently studying towards an undergraduate degree in Project Management, Business Management, IT & Information Systems, Engineering, Manufacturing, Economics, or any Science discipline;
• Prior experience working within project teams (advantageous);
• Experience with digital tools would be useful;
• Demonstrate strong self-motivation, enthusiasm, and a drive to seek out new opportunities;
• Exhibit an eagerness to learn, grow, and acquire new skill sets;
• Take initiative independently and adapt smoothly to changing workplace challenges.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
