Supply Chain Apprentice

How did you join the apprenticeship, what was the process?

The process of joining the apprenticeship has been easy. The onboarding team were always there to answer any questions that I had as I didn’t really know when applying for the apprenticeship what my days would look like.

Being someone who has come from a Fashion background it was helpful to have a meeting with someone who has previous experiences with apprentices to go through what the apprenticeship was going to look like for me and the doors that this would open for me.

Having the opportunity to have 6 Months of working in the company before starting my apprenticeship has been beneficial to me as I really do feel it gives you the opportunity to have some day-to-day experiences and relatable scenarios to put against the subjects you will be learning about.

The process from being interviewed to starting the job was quick and I was kept well informed of any new updates throughout my experience.

What has your experience been like so far?

My experience at Raytheon so far has been amazing! I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many people and build my network within the business not only in Harlow but also various other sites in the UK.

My team have really helped me settle into my role making sure I have the best knowledge to carry out my daily tasks. Having the opportunity to Join committees within Raytheon and attending events such as Pride 2023 has been one of the best experiences.

I’ve loved getting involved and being able to help and see how my input has positively affected people. I also had the amazing opportunity to volunteer in Harlow where I got to spend the day helping and giving back to the community with my colleagues.

What have the main benefits been for you?

The main benefits for me have been having the exposure of networking so early on within my Job. Having this exposure has meant that I was able to build relationships with people I work with every day whilst also learning and understanding how other departments work. Having that wide network just helps with really settling into your role.

What advice can you offer to future applicants?

My advice would be to take the opportunities that are given to you. Go to the different sites, attend the Graduate meetings. Any event/ Zoom or teams call that is held turn your camera on and get involved, don’t be afraid to speak up and join in. By doing this it opens the doors for people really being able to get to know you.
