Our North Star

A manifesto.

The climate crisis is set to be the single biggest challenge mankind will face, not just in our lifetime, but in the lifetimes of our children, our grandchildren and beyond.

So, what are we going to do about it?

As built-environment experts, we have so much to contribute. Within us lies the power and the influence to truly make a difference. And the cliché is true: with that power comes great responsibility… A responsibility to the natural world and to society; both the people impacted by our projects and, of course, our clients.

Guided by something more.

Steered by our North Star philosophy of “human-centric and planet-conscious ” we are going to lead the way in the future of responsible engineering and consultancy.

Let’s be honest. We know this won’t be easy. There’s both a unity and a tension between the two elements of our North Star, but that is exactly where our expertise and our spirit of overcoming obstacles lies.

Problem solving is in our DNA… and this is the ultimate problem to solve. A global challenge that we as Hoare Lea, readily accept.

But what does this mean in reality?

• It means leaving our comfort zones behind and orientating ourselves in a new direction.
• It means interrogating every brief against our North Star, working with clients to create what we know is right.
• It means demonstrating how positively balancing human-centric with planet-conscious is the ultimate measure of success.

So, this is a manifesto from us to you… To say, we’re looking up, looking forwards, and leading the way in forging a future that we can all be proud of.
