More than 100 Years of Innovation
At Edwards we’ve been engineering environments where innovation thrives for more than 100 years.

Timeline

1919

Edwards founded. Physicist F.D Edwards began importing vacuum equipment.

 

1952

First international establishment. Edwards High Vaccum Canada.

 

1953

UK new HQ and factory - Crawley, West Sussex.

 

1968

Acquired by BOC - international expansion.

 

1975

Taking on the world. Shipping to over 75 countries.

 

1992

Edwards enters the abatement business. Edward acquires a small start-up company focused on exhaust gases.

 

1996

New Burgess Hill Facility. Development and production of high speed machines.

 

2004

Yachiyo opening. Operations in Japan moved to new purpose-built complex.

 

2011

C3 Kora grand opening. State-of-the-art facilities.

 

2014

Acquired by Atlas Copco, to develop the existing business and expand into utility vacuum.

 

2019

Edwards marks 100 years.
