I completed an integrated Masters in Mechanical Engineering, with an intercalated year.
I currently work at Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE) in Cranfield as a product quality management engineer within the Total Customer Satisfaction (TCS) section of Nissan. My role is to ensure the quality of new vehicles by feeding into the design of new projects using historic and current data, as well as validating the project at each stage of its lifecycle until market release.
I applied to the graduate position at Nissan because I previously completed an industrial placement here too, during which I felt a great deal of accountability and was given so many exciting opportunities to apply and develop my engineering skills to make a real difference. The company has a great culture with people who are always ready to help and share their experiences with you.
My degree has taught me how to think like an engineer, but more importantly how to communicate technical concepts verbally and literally which is incredibly important in a workplace. University developed my time and project management skills, allowing me to effectively juggle multiple projects in my current role.
Nissan offers a graduate development programme to develop us as people, not just employees. We work with industry professionals to advance our use of soft skills and focus on building relationships to ensure effective collaboration inside and outside of the workplace.
If you plan to apply to Nissan, remember to be yourself during the interviews and assessments - Nissan are focused on what you say rather than how you say it.
