We have 11 offices across the United States of America. Our New York office was established in 1998 as the first US office, Buro Happold New York City is the largest office in the country, with nearly 200 staff members that deliver some of the most iconic and high performance projects across the region and internationally.

We have other offices in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Durham, Los Angeles, Miami, Pittsburgh, San Diego, Seattle, and Washington DC.

Some of our project highlights include:

	44 Union Square (New York, USA) 44 Union Square, previously known as Tammany Hall, has long been a landmark in Manhattan. The long-standing venue for Democratic Party conventions and in the first half of the twentieth century, home to the Tammany Hall political movement – a benevolent society and liberal lobbying organisation, which took its name from Chief Tamanend – the leader of the Lenape People – who signed a treaty of peaceful coexistence with William Penn in 1680. This connection to the Native American indigenous people of the region was taken as an inspiration by the design team, led by BKSK Architects, when attention was turned to breathing new life into this old building.
Air Garden at LAX (Los Angeles, CA, USA) Buro Happold, on the design team with Ball-Nogues Studio, worked directly with Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) on our largest installation to date, a public art piece in the north skylight of the Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport. The sculpture is a sequence of hanging bead chains of varying lengths that produces a cloud-like appearance beneath the skylight. Embodying qualities of light and space, the colourful installation has been designed to inspire quiet contemplation amidst the chaotic activity of the busy airport.
	Denver Art Museum (Denver, CO, United States) Since its inception in 1893, the Denver Art Museum has been a cultural anchor in downtown Denver. The Museum is renowned worldwide for both its collection and its architecture. As part of a major renovation and addition, the Denver Art Museum desired to create a community driven space that both welcomes and engages as well as leverages the entire campus to benefit its visitors.
Detroit Future City (Detroit, USA) Detroit’s economic and population decline, driven by changes in the US auto and wider manufacturing industry, is a globally recognised story – as are the social, employment and urban consequences for those who remain in the city. Less well known is the tangible economic resurgence that has already started in the city. New sectors of the economy are emerging that provide job opportunities for Detroiters and attract new residents to the city.
