Job Description

We are passionate about providing our clients with sustainable solutions by constantly looking at challenges from a fresh angle. For us to continue maintaining our collaborative client relationships and further grow our environmental capabilities, we are searching for like-minded, forward-thinking environmentalists to join our team.

As an Intern, you will be supporting all members of the environment team with their projects, learning new skills and showing drive and determination to develop. You will be working on a range of schemes, particularly in the transportation and water infrastructure sectors at various life stages, from feasibility to construction and operation, working on environmental assessments and appraisals to help our clients deliver the best possible outcomes.

This is a paid role with a duration of between 8 and 12 weeks starting in May 2018. The exact commitment is flexible to meet University course requirements.

You will be working with graduates, experienced professionals, and other students so an internship with us is the perfect opportunity to learn from a variety of people while understanding our values and culture. It’s also a great chance to get involved with real projects while gaining relevant experience.

Where you will be based

The role is based in our Altrincham office in Greater Manchester, but travel to other offices such as in Central Manchester or Leeds, or time spent doing field surveys, may also be required.

Candidate Specification

We are ideally looking for students with the following;

  • We are looking for students have completed their undergraduate degree and studying at master’s level in an environmental related discipline.
  • Ideally, we would be looking for a candidate who has the knowledge and general understanding of a broad range of environmental topics.
  • We are particularly interested to hear from students studying in Leeds as part of our commitment to local recruitment and employment opportunities in the area.
  • Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and team members.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail and be able to demonstrate accurate technical drawings and good report writing.
