I joined Emerson almost a year ago now and the time has flown by. Like all Engineering Graduates in the UK and Ireland, I started my time with Emerson on a 9 week training Bootcamp in Cluj, Romania.
There were 12 of us in total from across the UK and Ireland in a classroom environment, undertaking various training courses in both DeltaV and Syncade.
Going to Cluj was an incredible experience, the Bootcamp was challenging in a lot of ways but equipped me with the tools and knowledge that accelerated my understanding so that when I returned to Dublin, I could hit the ground running. It really gave me an appreciation for the global company that Emerson is.
Since returning from Bootcamp, I have worked on and contributed to multiple projects within Process Systems and Solutions and with many of our customers being Pharmaceutical companies, my degree in Chemical Engineering has come in very useful.
The responsibility Emerson gives you so early on is like none other. When I look back at 1 year ago compared to now, I have come a million miles.
I would urge anyone with a keen work ethic and a drive to learn to apply for the Graduate Programme, I’ve enjoyed every step, from the recruitment process, Bootcamp, to the projects I’m working on today and hope there will be many more moments to enjoy throughout my career with Emerson.
