I joined Emerson on the Commercial Graduate Programme back in September 2020 after seeing the scheme advertised on Gradcracker.
I vastly enjoyed the experience of this Graduate role from start to finish. With the programme being rotation based, I was exposed to a lot of the different business units within Emerson. This allowed me to gain skills and knowledge from colleagues in all areas of the business, from engineers, managers, all the way to director level. The best thing about this programme for me is the network you build within the company. This exposure and network was a great platform for me to begin my career at Emerson.
Upon completion of the programme, I moved into a permanent role as an Inside Sales Engineer in Aberdeen, where my professional development was accelerated working with customers on major Oil and Gas projects. This was further helped by the support and encouragement from the team around me.
The professional development from both the commercial graduate scheme and Inside Sales Engineer role has helped me move into the Account Manager role I’m currently in.
Being a part of the grad scheme in the past, I also take on the responsibility of helping the new graduates settle into their role and the company, and help them on their career journey.
