I joined the Emerson graduate programme back in September 2021 after applying on Gradcracker during my final year at university. The scheme consisted of numerous work placements across different business units within Emerson.
The rotational nature of the graduate scheme created great networking opportunities across Emerson which helped provide insight into the variety of roles available when considering future career progression.
Since leaving the graduate scheme in June, I have secured a permanent role as an Inside Sales Engineer in the Measurement Solutions team.
Whilst I came from a technical background, having studied Mechanical Engineering at university, starting my role as an Inside Sales Engineer has really helped me develop my commercial skills when it comes to customer interaction as well as increasing my technical knowledge around the vast Emerson product portfolio.
One of the best things about my role at Emerson is the encouragement and support I receive from my colleagues and management when it comes to my professional development.
Since joining, I have also taken opportunities to get involved in company events throughout the year, including customer innovation days and STEM activities. Having doing so has allowed me to develop skills outside of my regular role which is something I have always valued as a form of personal development.
