Application Process

We keep the application process consistent by position to ensure everyone is assessed equally, but we use different tools and methods for different positions.

That’s because the application and interview process is an important moment for you – and for us. We want to offer you the best opportunity to show that you have the attributes and aspirations we’re looking for.

Mitsubishi Chemical's recruitment process
Anna, European Recruiter, gives a brief overview of what you can expect if you apply to Mitsubishi Chemical.

We’ve outlined the main steps of the process below, so you know what to expect:

Step 1. Apply online

To apply for one of our job adverts, simply click the apply button at the bottom of the relevant vacancy on Gradcracker. This will then re-direct you to our website. Click the apply button again and paste or attach your CV to the email address pop-up box. Application complete!

Step 2. CV review

Whilst this is part of the application process it's ours. not yours, we know how frustrating it can be waiting to hear how your application is progressing. We typically review all applications once the closing date has passed, so if you don't hear anything before then, please bare with us. We will update you as soon as possible.

Step 3. First interview

Depending on the position (often whether it's office or plant based) we'll invite you to a site tour and informal interview, or telephone interview. The site tour will last around 1-2 hours, and the telephone interview around 30 minutes. This stage is designed for us to get to know each other a little better in a more informal setting.

Stage 4. The final interview

Here we'll be using a combination of behavioural, management and technical interviews. We'll ask questions that allow you to go into greater detail about your skills and experience; capabilities and aspirations, and demonstrate what environment and team will bring out the best in you.

Whatever the result, we'll give you feedback. We recognise the time and effort you have spent with us and want to make it a useful learning experience.

5. Making a job offer

If you're successful in your final interview you will receive a call from HR to offer you the position, which we'll follow up in writing. If we've been successful in impressing you too, then together we'll agree a start date and detailed instructions on the induction process for your new role.

Not all interviews and jobs fit neatly into one process so at time we might include other activities and tools such as online numerical and verbal reasoning tests, or additional interview stages.

Remember that throughout the application and interview process, you will have the opportunity to meet lots of our people, so this is also your chance to ask any questions about us. Two-way communication starts from day one, so ask away!
