My name is Nwachukwu Abraham Nsonwu. I am a Graduate Civil Engineer, working in the One Drainage team, specifically in the highways sector under the Scheme Delivery Framework (SDF) for National Highways. We provide maintenance, remediation, and improvement design solutions for the strategic road network in England, which is divided into Southeast, Northeast, and central regions. I have spent most of my time working mainly within the southeast region, but I provide support in projects across all the regions.
I started my role at Jacobs on Monday, 4th of September 2023.
I don’t have one specific moment, but I’ve enjoyed every moment of being in my team, it started on the first day with the head of my capability and manager coming to the office to make sure I felt welcomed, at the time I felt it was standard procedure but it became obvious everybody was going out of their way to make feel welcome, it’s been two years and I still feel that sense of comfort in the team.
CULTURE OF CARING.
From my personal experience, Jacobs has been great for my early career development because of the graduate development programme. It gives you a chance to measure and pursue your growth as a result of the biannual review required during the scheme's duration. The teams (or in my personal experience, my team) also make sure you are not overstressed and try to balance teaching/developing your skills with assigning you more responsibilities.
