During your time with us, you'll have the opportunity to further develop your knowledge of technical sales. You'll also develop foundational professional skills like effective communication, problem-solving, and time management.

This is NOT a traditional engineering role. It’s not application engineering. It’s not sales engineering. It’s a commercial sales career path designed for engineers who want to apply their technical skills in a business context.

Note: MathWorks summer internships are based in the Cambridge, UK office. During your internship, you will work closely with the Inside Sales team based in Galway, Ireland, engaging with customers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Internships are for a three or four-month period starting in July or June respectively.

Responsibilities

As an EDG Intern working with Inside Sales, you will engage with customers across industries to gain customer perspective and a deeper understanding of MathWorks’ suite of products. More specifically, you will:

  • Sharpen your technical skills to better understand our platforms and how to leverage them when collaborating with customers.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales and technical colleagues to identify and solve our customers’ technical and business challenges.
  • Effectively turn prospects and qualified leads into opportunities and revenue pipeline.
  • Benefit from extensive learning opportunities through training, mentorship, and knowledge sharing forums.

This internship will prepare you for a sales career at MathWorks, starting in the Engineering Development Group in Cambridge, UK. Following EDG (typically 12-18 months), you will be required to relocate to Galway, Ireland to join a growing team of Inside Sales professionals engaging customers in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
