UK & Ireland Technology Consulting - Summer Intern - 2018 Intake - Bristol

The opportunity

Our Technology Consulting Programme gives you the opportunity to work with the world’s major organisations to address their technology challenges. When you join us, you will need to think of yourself as a consultant, rather than an intern, from day one. This means playing a key role in one of our teams whether you are delivering innovative solutions for our clients, analysing trends by conducting industry research or helping to develop proposals and business cases.

Within our UK team your work isn’t about providing ‘off-the shelf’ solutions; you’ll work in teams that focus on helping clients to identify and solve complex business problems. You’ll be helping to address our clients’ individual business needs, developing core consulting and industry skills along the way. You’ll also focus on solving client’s biggest challenges arising from advancements in new and existing Technology.

Working within the UK team will expose you to a wide range of business problems as you work with different client teams. There is no better way to learn about the industry than working alongside the client to solve their business challenges. Your role contribution will be varied as you will work on many different projects across our key industries: Government & Public Services; Energy; Retail, Consumer Products & Life Sciences; and Telecommunications, Media and Technology.

Your key responsibilities

In your first two years the programme is structured to give you significant exposure to Operational, Strategic and Financial issues but there will also be opportunities for you to understand our solutions and industries. You will have the opportunity to get involved in a number of different activities. You will have the opportunity to be based on various client sites as part of engagement teams in a variety of sectors, as well as working in our own EY offices.
Regardless of whether the work is internal or for a client, you will be supporting a team with either project management activities or with the delivery of work products. The former includes activities such as overseeing budget, planning, taking minutes and tracking progress on objectives and milestones, whereas the latter can mean anything from doing basic research, preparing documents for more senior team members to creating the final version of the work product and presenting back to clients.
