Our purpose – together, building better futures – is at the heart of why we exist.
We want to make a positive, sustainable impact within and beyond our firm. For our clients, our people and our communities. It’s about the value we create for society and the role we play in building a more sustainable future now and for generations to come.
Our purpose is amplified by our B Corp certification: we’re now part of a community of thousands of other purpose-led organisations who champion business as a force for good. Together, we can all make a positive difference.
Our people are our firm. Working together, we can make this the best job they'll ever have. We’re committed to building a diverse workforce where everyone can be themselves, thrive and belong. This benefits our people, our firm, our clients and wider society.
Building a more sustainable future means acting now to tackle climate risk. Minimising our environmental impact and developing sustainable business practices is part of our commitment to being a socially responsible business.
Since 2020, we've reduced our core carbon footprint of 1988 tCO2e by 38% and our ‘per head’ carbon emissions by more than 60%. This year, we’re resetting our targets via a new science-based target carbon reduction plan, including a firm net zero date. It’s currently in its final stages and will be shared here as soon as it’s ready. We continue to work with our people to help reduce their carbon footprint and support our clients, customers and suppliers to reduce their emissions.
The Hymans Robertson Foundation is an independent registered charity, set up in 2016. The firm donates 2% of pre-tax profits each year, supporting the Foundation to carry out its mission to make a positive impact on young people and communities across the UK.
The Foundation works with other community and charitable organisations. Through them, we fund projects aimed at improving the financial futures of thousands of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and support local community projects that improve lives.
Supporting our local communities is the perfect example of our purpose in action. Our people are encouraged to use 21 hours of paid volunteering leave each year, with volunteering days and fundraising activities coordinated by our Helping Hands teams.
Through the Hymans Robertson Foundation we provide matched funding for individual and team fundraising, adding more than £23,000 in donations over the last year.
