Fill in the Tesco application form

Great! A role at Tesco has caught your eye. You'll need to apply online, just like all our roles.

  • If you haven't yet created a profile, you'll need to do this when applying for a job.
  • The job advert will share the skills and qualifications that we need, as well as some that are good to have. If you don't have all of them – don't let that put you off from applying.
  • The questions we ask may be different depending on the role you're applying for.
  • You can log back into your account at any point to keep an eye on the progress of your application.
Online assessment

To help us get to know you better, some roles include an online assessment or case study as part of the Tesco hiring process.

Applying for a store role? You may be invited to complete a scenario-based exercise or online chat assessment. These are designed to reflect real scenarios you might face in the role, and help us understand how well your values and behaviours align with ours.

For other roles, especially those requiring technical skills, you may be asked to complete a skills-based task. This helps us understand your strengths and see how your experience fits the role.

Interview

For all office roles, our recruitment team will get in touch to book an interview time that works for you. For all other roles, we'll send you a link to book an interview. This might come from the store or our recruitment hub.

You'll be asked questions based on our 'Win Together' behaviours which you can find in this PDF, so make sure you have a read and come with some examples.

Office roles – what to expect

  • Depending on the job, we may ask you to do a task during the interview – or prepare one ahead – and ask some technical questions related to the job advert.
  • Interviews range from 60–90 minutes. We see these as an open conversation for you to get to know us, as well as for us to get to know you.
  • We run interviews in-person and virtually – feel free to speak to your recruitment contact if you have a preference.
  • Some roles may involve more than one interview, but we’ll keep you informed every step of the way.

Technology roles – what to expect

  • The interview process will be split into separate rounds. These rounds may look different based on the role in Technology you are applying for, you can find more information about our interview process for our roles below.
  • We run interviews in-person and virtually – feel free to speak to your recruitment contact if you have a preference.

Retail, warehouse and distribution roles – what to expect

  • Our interviews last 30 minutes, and they're an open conversation for you to get to know us as well us for us to get to know you.
  • All our interviews are held in-person.
What's next?
  • You'll hear back from us after your interview via email if you have been successful, and we'll share the next steps.
  • If you aren't successful, we will share feedback with you. Remember, we always have new roles popping up that you may thrive in.
Employment checks

We'll carry out some checks depending on your location. For example, in the UK, you'll need to provide us with proof of Right to Work and, in India, we'll do some identity, work and background checks. This will be done at different stages of the process depending on the role you apply for.

For some roles, we may ask for more information. For example, driver roles require an online test in the UK, plus a driving test in Ireland and a Garda Vetting process on occasion in Ireland. For Pharmacy and Customer Delivery Drivers, we will ask for a CRC. These will be completed at different parts of the recruitment process, depending on the role you have applied for.

These checks may be sent from a third-party provider, so keep an eye out for this in your email inbox.
