Job Summary:

Amazon Web Services is seeking motivated students or recent graduates for our Associate Solutions Architect Intern programme starting September 2026.

This 6-month learning-focused internship serves as the pathway to our 2026-2027 Solutions Architect Graduate Programme, designed to develop the next generation of Cloud Solutions Architects.

As an intern at AWS you will follow a structured training programme that provides foundational knowledge in cloud computing, AWS services, and solutions architecture principles. You'll learn to understand customer requirements, design cloud solutions, and communicate technical recommendations effectively.

Throughout the programme, you'll be mentored by experienced Solutions Architects, participate in solution design discussions, and work on a real project building on AWS applying what you learn to hands-on experience with AWS services.

This internship is ideal for students passionate about cloud technology who want to develop their consulting, communication, and solutions design skills in a supportive, education-first environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete a structured training curriculum to build cloud architecture foundations and AWS services knowledge
  • Learn to analyse customer requirements and translate them into technical solution recommendations
  • Participate in solution design sessions and shadow customer engagements with experienced Solutions Architects
  • Work on a real AWS project, applying architecture principles and building with AWS services
  • Develop presentation skills by learning to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Study the AWS Well-Architected Framework and learn to apply it to solution designs

Basic Qualifications

  • Graduated in 2025 or currently enrolled in final year of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, JavaScript)
  • Understanding of basic IT systems, software development, or system architecture concepts
  • Available to work full-time starting September 2026 for 6 months
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom for the duration of the internship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.
  • Knowledge of Networking fundamentals including Security, Storage or Databases (Relational and/or NoSQL), Operating Systems (Unix, Linux, and/or Windows).
  • Experience with one or more of the following domains: systems administration (Linux/Window), network administration (DNS, IPsec, BGP, VPN, Load Balancing), or programming (Node.JS, Java, Ruby, C#, Python, or PHP).
