Why join our Graduate Scheme?

EPS is a specialist electrical engineering consultancy working on some of the more demanding power system infrastructure projects across the UK and beyond. Each year we take on graduates from a range of electrical engineering disciplines and bring them into live, rewarding projects early on.

If you want to understand how power systems behave in practice and build that understanding across varied, demanding projects in different sectors, this is the kind of environment where it happens.

What the EPS Graduate Scheme Involves:

As an EPS graduate, you’ll support the wider engineering team from an early stage, gaining a fuller understanding of how power systems are modelled and analysed, and how they’re designed and delivered.

Day-to-day, graduates typically work across:

  • Power System Modelling & Analysis
Supporting the wider engineering team with various electrical studies and calculations.
  • Electrical Design
Assisting senior team members on complex HV & LV electrical design projects.
  • Training & Development
Continuous professional development at EPS includes one-to-one training and mentorship delivered by Chartered Electrical Engineers, plus formal graduate training from the company’s co-founder and managing director, alongside independent learning and knowledge sharing.
  • Software
Building proficiency in ETAP, DIgSILENT and PSCAD to support the team’s modelling and analysis work.

EPS graduates also have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in the field, visiting client sites such as:

  • Transmission Substations
  • Solar PV Farms
  • Onshore Wind Farms
  • Battery Energy Storage Facilities
  • Energy-from-Waste Sites

The fieldwork you’ll be involved with:

Graduates go out onsite with senior EPS power system consultants and take part in the practical testing behind the studies, including:

  • Earthing Surveys
  • Soil Resistivity Testing
  • Fall of Potential Testing

“EPS is a fantastic place to work if you wish to learn as much as you can about Electrical Engineering, provided you are ready to absorb all the information and knowledge that will be made available to you.” Archie – Graduate Electrical Engineer
