Communications Broughton Placement (12 months)

Here at the Airbus Commercial UK Communications department, we have a pretty impressive record when it comes to giving our interns memories of a lifetime. From hosting Prime Ministers and VIPs to bringing our people and products to life through world-class storytelling, we pride ourselves on the 12-month experience we provide.

No two days are ever the same. We are passionate about aerospace and proud of the incredible products we build. We want to work with people who have a genuine hunger to develop their skills in communications.

What you will be doing:

We have two exciting 12-month placement opportunities starting in August 2027.

You will quickly become an integral part of our professional team, gaining hands-on experience across a variety of communications disciplines:

• Internal Communications: Crafting engaging campaigns and messaging for our workforce on-site.
• External Relations & Media: Supporting colleagues on local media relations activities, social media, and community liaison.
• Content Creation & Storytelling: Writing news stories, filming and editing videos and campaign materials.
• End-to-End Campaigns and events: Designing and executing internal and external campaigns and events from concept to delivery.

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

This role will involve working in areas which require stakeholder, brand and reputation management and involvement with internal and external audiences.

Your Profile & Skills

• Academic Background: Ideally studying for a degree that covers the basics of communication, marketing, public relations, journalism, media, advertising, or corporate social responsibility.
• Communication Skills: Good written and spoken English. You should have a passion for people and feel confident picking up the phone to speak with stakeholders across the business
• Interest: You don’t need to be an official “AvGeek”, but an interest in learning about the aerospace industry, manufacturing or Research &Technology will help you stand out
• Technical Savvy: Familiarity with standard IT tools.  An interest in photography/videography is a bonus.
• Personal Attributes: Highly self-motivated, organised, and possessing strong time management skills.
• Bonus Points: A portfolio of your work (from university modules or personal projects) is highly desirable.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
