Facilities Engineer Placement (12.5 months)

The Technical Facilities Engineering team is at the heart of keeping Airbus's cutting-edge manufacturing and testing sites running efficiently and safely. What you will be doing:

During your time with the Technical Facilities Engineering team, you will:

• Project & Contractor Management: Support projects from initial request to handover, including conducting feasibility studies, running small projects to stakeholder specifications, and ensuring health and safety compliance;
• Infrastructure Maintenance: Acquire practical experience by helping oversee, maintain, and resolve issues within our complex site infrastructure, including supporting the management of subcontractors performing installation and commissioning;
• Data & Budgeting: Collaborate with senior engineers to review facility performance data and assist in the preparation of Opex and Capex budgets by collating costs to support capital investment cases;
• Sustainability & Improvement: Identify and support the rollout of key sustainability initiatives, such as energy-efficiency upgrades and carbon-reduction projects, to meet Airbus's environmental objectives;
• Performance Tracking: Develop robust skills in data evaluation by tracking the impact of facility modifications, reporting on sustainability metrics, and defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as maintenance downtime;
• Tendering & Specifications: Contribute to tender documentation by providing specification requirements in line with relevant installation standards;
• Compliance & Safety: Participate in site audits, safety reviews, and future-planning sessions, proactively identifying and addressing any non-compliance with policies to ensure operations remain secure and optimized for growth.

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

As the successful candidate, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

• Currently studying towards a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a closely related discipline;
• A strong interest in data analysis, continuous improvement, and environmental sustainability;
• Good communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders;
• Good organizational and time-management abilities.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
