The Internship scheme within Finance at Airbus will provide you with a fantastic start to your career. The internship will give you the opportunity to gain hands-on financial experience within a manufacturing industry as well as develop professional behavioural skills such as leadership, organisational, presentation and communication skills. You will also be given an insight into working in a challenging, fast-paced environment with real responsibilities. What you will be doing:

In Filton, Bristol, Airbus is responsible for the engineering design and test of wings and landing gears, as well as home to some of our support functions such as Procurement, Finance, and HR. As a member of the team in Filton, you are able to see wings being designed and parts being tested for manufacture. From design to flight this is an amazing story to be part of!

The Engineering Financial Controlling team in Filton is responsible for the financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting of the Engineering function. You will have a front-row seat to the amazing journey of a wing, from initial design to flight.

As a valued member of the team, you will be responsible for:

• Financial reporting: Preparing reports to analyze actual costs incurred each month.
• Forecasting: Updating forecast models and honing your stakeholder management skills by liaising with the Finance community and the Business Operations team.
• Supporting transnational teams across Europe in continuous improvement projects to make the business more efficient.
• Cost scenarios and hourly rate reporting.
• Team engagement: Participating in team-building activities and helping to organize team events.

During your internship, you will gain insight into how a large multinational company operates and how your role connects to the overall company strategy. You'll gain excellent working experience with financial concepts like reporting, forecasting, and budgeting. This role will also quickly strengthen your soft skills and personal development in areas such as organizational skills, leadership, autonomy, proactivity, and teamwork. Airbus will challenge you to help you realize your full potential and grow significantly over the internship.

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

As the successful candidate, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

• Studying towards a degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent (must have completed a minimum of 2 years);
• Good understanding of Google Suite and its applications, i.e. Sheets, Slides, Docs, or their MS Office equivalents;
• Strong teamwork skills;
• Ability to work autonomously on own initiative;
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written;
• Drive to develop yourself and others;
• Logical and analytical approach to problem solving;
• Curious to understand why and the bigger picture;
• Ability to explain accounting concepts to Non Finance;
• Ability to work in accordance with tight deadlines and maintain quality of output.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
