Our Enabling Functions are there behind every deal, change, or transformation. They keep every area of our business running smoothly, helping us operate efficiently and sharpening our edge in a fiercely competitive industry. This is your opportunity to build an extraordinary depth and breadth of experience through a deep dive into one of eight areas within Enabling Functions at Barclays. You’ll work across geographic and divisional boundaries, discovering how one of the world’s biggest banks operates and delivers across multiple regions. You’ll learn from experts as you experience and influence every part of the business. The Explorer Programme will enable you to get your career off to a great start.
Our two-year Explorer Programme is a deep dive into Enabling Functions at Barclays. As an analyst, you’ll enjoy three rotations around a chosen area, with one rotation potentially taking you into a related Enabling Function. You’ll get insight into what we do, how we do it, how our Barclays businesses fit together – and how your role fits in. And you’ll get exposure to the whole bank – giving you the opportunity to build a strong network and great prospects for development.
The better we understand the numbers, the better our decisions — and our performance — will be. Finance (including Treasury) oversees financial control, reporting and forecasting, as well as product control. It also monitors budgets and gives us accurate, high quality management and financial information. But our Finance teams aren’t just experts at interpreting figures — they’re also business managers who help drive strategy and keep us on track. Join us, and you’ll be part of truly bank-wide team that makes us competitive on a global scale.
You’ll learn continually, from start to finish – whether it’s the hard skills you need to be brilliant at your job, or the professional skills to be brilliant in a business of this size, we give you the essential learning experiences you need to play a full role in Barclays. At all times you’ll be supported by an experienced line manager and a talent coach who together will help you realise your potential and discover where you’d like your career journey to take you in Barclays. You’ll be surrounded by colleagues you can share with and learn from. You’ll get lifetime membership of our global graduate network, with exclusive access to content, events and forums to support you and help you develop. And you’ll get the opportunity to have an impact on the communities in which we live and work.
What’s more, you might qualify for a bursary towards your professional development. By the end of your programme you’ll have gained all the understanding and skills you need to move into a fulfilling permanent role.
We welcome people of any educational background, but you should be excited about pioneering new services and setting new standards of excellence. To make the most of this opportunity, you’ll be curious and creative, tech-savvy and adaptable. You’ll be great at communicating and collaborating, competitive but caring. Motivated by pace and pressure, you’ll be driven to achieve — and to do it right. You’ll also be customer-obsessed, ready to develop a deep understanding of what we do, why we do it, and how your role impacts on our business outcomes. These are qualities that people at Barclays have in abundance, and we’ll help you develop and strengthen them from the day you arrive.
