The reason the IMI graduate programme appealed to me was because I liked the idea of being able to try out different roles in different countries before figuring out what direction I wanted to take my career in.
I joined the Precision Engineering Programme at first. But after learning more about all three IMI divisions, I realised that Critical Engineering was a better fit for my background and skills. Luckily, the graduate HR team were hugely supportive and I was able to transfer over for my second placement. If you are determined about the direction you want to take your career in here, anything is possible.
Right now, my days are very full as I have just started a new placement with IMI Remosa in Sardinia, Italy, and I am having to learn about all the company’s products and processes, as well as practising Italian with my new colleagues!
