Ready to put your studies into practice and gain valuable real-world experience? Join Edwards Vacuum in Clevedon for a one-year Year in Industry placement and turn your knowledge into experience.
Throughout your placement, you will work alongside experienced colleagues, take on real responsibilities and contribute to meaningful projects that complement your academic studies. With hands-on experience, ongoing support and opportunities to develop your professional and technical skills, you will gain valuable insight into working in industry and build experience that will help you stand out as you take the next steps in your career.
Main responsibilities
Complete a series of structured placements across mechanical engineering functions over a one year placement programme.
Support the design, development, testing, and continuous improvement of mechanical systems used within semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
Contribute to live engineering projects, applying engineering principles to solve technical and operational challenges.
Produce and maintain drawings, bills of materials, and associated engineering documentation. Create accurate 3D parts and assemblies in CAD, applying correct constraints and ensuring designs are ready for manufacture.
Assist with system integration, verification, validation, and troubleshooting activities.

You are currently studying towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and are undertaking an industrial placement as part of your course.
