We are excited to be looking for a Geotechnical Engineering Apprentice to be based in our Manchester office. You will work towards achieving a Level 6 qualification.

As part of that support, Jacobs has developed one of the leading and longest-standing tunnel and ground engineering consultancy capabilities in the UK, with around 400 staff delivering practical, innovative and sustainable solutions to ground-related problems. 

We are continuing to invest in our Ground Engineering group in the UK and are looking for people to join our team who have the passion and drive to add value and shape positive solutions for major projects across the world. 

You will work as part of a diverse and highly skilled team of geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists, providing support and advice to the wider Jacobs business and clients.

Here's What You'll Need:

  • 96 UCAS points or equivalent required. Typically at least three A levels at grades A*-C including Mathematics and Physical Science or their equivalent or will have completed a Level 3 Apprenticeship as a Civil Engineering Technician and hold two distinctions for a BTEC National Diploma in Civil Engineering or related studies. 
  • GCSE grade C in Maths and English required. 
  • Also experience in chosen industry is desirable e.g. construction, engineering draughting etc. 
  • A flexible and proactive self-starter who’s passionate about developing new skills 
  • The ability to adapt and prioritise whilst juggling work and study priorities 
  • Enthusiasm and curiosity to apply your skills to solve real-world problems 
  • Empathy and listening skills to help you truly understand our clients’ requirements 
  • A well-rounded person – have you travelled around the world? Worked in a bar? Been captain of a sports team or volunteered for a charity? Tell us - we’re looking for people with interesting stories and experiences! 
  • You must have the permanent right to work in the UK.
