At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.
Join the Jacobs Graduate Development Program (GDP) and help shape better environments, communities and societies. Bring your passion, creativity and ambition — and together, we’ll create lasting change.
Our two‑year Graduate Development Program is designed to accelerate your growth as you begin your Jacobs career. Through blended learning, mentoring, progress reviews and networking, you’ll build capability across four key areas: human skills, consulting skills, championing our strategy, and developing your personal passions.
You’ll tailor your learning journey to your interests, career goals and technical strengths — creating a graduate experience that’s uniquely yours. Much of your development will come through real project work, supported by your manager and mentor to ensure you gain the experiences that matter most.
The Graduate Development Program isn’t just a steppingstone — it’s a launchpad. You’ll gain the tools, exposure and support to unlock your potential, working on meaningful projects and collaborating with industry leaders to deliver solutions to complex challenges.
The Graduate Transport Planners/Engineers will join our Transport Planning team which is part of our Cities & Places and Major Programmes business unit. We help create thriving places across different scales: from regions to cities, neighbourhoods to sites, by offering an integrated design approach. Our business unit brings together transport planners, engineers, architects, designers, surveyors, urban designers and project managers to provide collaborative and coordinated value design solutions for our clients both nationally and internationally.
Our team skillsets cover the full remit of transport planning across all modes; from high level policy and strategy advice through transport modelling/appraisal to active travel, streets design, traffic engineering and junction design. The successful candidate will join our Development Planning capability and will work with national and Local Authorities to understand the transport impacts of local plans, National Significant Infrastructure Projects and individual planning applications and work with statutory consultees, Local Authorities and site promoters to create sustainable places.
We are interested in hearing from candidates with an interest in sustainable development who are keen to develop a rounded set of skills, with a focus on policy, sustainable transport, development impact, modelling, consideration of infrastructure needs and highway safety.
You will have the support of a mentor, our management team and experts who will help guide your progress. You will also be given the opportunity to pursue relevant business and technical training to support your career development, as well as room to grow your network and knowledge base to create innovative solutions.
