Join our 2027 (Autumn) Graduate Programme as a Graduate Fire Engineer in our Glasgow or Edinburgh office, where you will be part of a market-leading Buildings discipline.
As a Graduate Fire Engineer, you will become part of our Scotland Fire Engineering team, with colleagues based across our Glasgow and Edinburgh offices. The team comprises 13 Fire Engineers, supported by a highly experienced senior leadership team in Scotland and across the wider UK business.
Our Scotland team is part of a nationally recognised Fire Engineering practice of more than 50 engineers, giving you access to a broad network of technical expertise, specialist knowledge, and development opportunities. From day one, you will collaborate with experienced professionals on a diverse range of projects whilst benefiting from structured mentoring and support to help you develop your career in fire engineering.
Aligned with the Government Advisory Panel's Authoritative Statement on Fire Engineering, we're committed to developing engineers with a strong understanding of fire engineering first principles and the skills to apply them effectively to real-world challenges.
As a Graduate Fire Engineer, you'll work alongside your manager and experienced colleagues to support the delivery of fire engineering design across a diverse range of projects. You'll contribute to early-stage strategic design input, working on schemes within our Buildings business and across wider sectors including hydro power, airports, and mass transit.

Working across a range of projects, you will support the design and delivery of safe, efficient and future-ready buildings, helping clients reduce environmental impact, enhance building performance and create spaces that improve the wellbeing of those who use them. Your work will contribute to sustainable development goals, support the efficient use of resources, and help deliver innovative solutions that meet the needs of both clients and local communities.
At Stantec, we value your potential over past experience. Along with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in relevant Engineering degree with modules relating to Fire Safety and Fire Engineering, proficient in Word/Microsoft office, and a keen interest in working in the Buildings sector, you'll be:
