Water

The global challenges the world faces today are complex and universal. We're addressing these challenges by focusing the efforts of our people and products where we can make a difference: energy demand, raw material and deforestation, water scarcity, waste creation, hygiene and the difference we can make to our consumers and communities around the world.

We recognise the impact we make, and we are constantly changing and improving the way we manufacture and design our products to build a better future.

Water

Reckitt aims to reduce its water impact and, at the same time, help people improve their health and hygiene. Water is an essential part of our future, and water challenges vary greatly by location. For this reason, it is essential that we focus our efforts where water is most scarce.

All of our Powerbrands require water and around 85% of our water impact comes from consumer use. With increasing water scarcity, our consumers will have less water to use. We aim to develop smart innovations and interventions that help our consumers meet their needs and aspirations while consuming less water.

Greenhouse gas

We recognise that climate change is a real threat to society, which will affect everyone on the planet, for example through floods, droughts and rising sea levels. The need for concerted action is clear. Climate change is a risk affecting our business and we are committed to taking action on this important issue.

We take a holistic value-chain approach to understanding and managing our climate change risks and impacts, based on carbon lifecycle modelling, and prioritise our efforts to address the biggest risks and opportunities.

Waste

As the world’s population increases, so too does its level of consumption. This means more waste is produced by both industry and consumers. Together, we must all contribute to a more sustainable future by decreasing the waste we generate and dispose of.

We’re focusing on how we can reduce the waste associated with our product packaging and manufacturing processes in order to improve the sustainability of our products.

Sourcing

Global demand for natural raw materials continues to put pressure on the natural environment and the communities that are involved in the production of important commodities.

We are committed to sourcing the natural raw materials we need in a sustainable way. That means buying from sources that go beyond applicable laws and regulations; respect human rights; safeguard the health & safety of workers; protect the environment and do not cause deforestation.
