Ready to fuel the success of globally renowned brands like Gillette? Do you want to be part of the innovation and technological advancement of products used every day by millions of the world’s consumers? Want to work for a company consistently recognised as one of the UK’s leading graduate employers?
Then apply for an Electrical Engineering Internship in Gillette’s Process & Engineering (P&E) department at P&G based in our Reading Innovation Centre. We are a group who always look for opportunities - whether that's in researching and testing a new technology; improving a piece of equipment's efficiency; or even making a process more sustainable to help reach the company's 2030 and 2040 Sustainability Goals. We believe that there is always an opportunity to grow and develop. If you were to join our team, you would be given responsibility from Day 1 to collaborate with vendors to design, develop and deliver equipment to our global partners, and be part of design reviews to expand initial concepts into our world-renowned products and packs.
From raw materials to finished products, our production facility is where innovation meets execution. Engineers and plant technicians work together to maintain efficiency, uphold safety, and ensure every product meets P&G’s exacting quality standards - all whilst contributing to the bigger picture of delivering some of the most iconic P&G products like Gillette, Venus and Old spice!
Our site is located close to the town centre and is served by motorway networks of M4 and M25 as well as the A33. We’re within 20 mins of Reading Central and Green Park railway stations and our site is served by buses that run every 10 minutes.
We offer 3 or 6 month internship placements in either our Packing or Assembly groups. During your internship, you will get a first-hand experience of what a career in P&E with P&G involves, and if it is right for you.
You will be working on live business projects and expected to dive straight in and take the lead. Previous Mechanical Engineering internship projects have covered topics such as creating a 'Gold Standard' process in sustainability for our worldwide Moulding equipment, improving the design of razor assembly machines, and evaluating automation in packing tool lines.
Sounds challenging? Don’t worry – we don’t expect you to know how to do this, we can teach you. Each intern receives a customized learning plan to ensure they get the right levels of coaching, mentoring and training as they deliver their work. If you are looking for an exciting and challenging experience, have a passion for winning, strong leadership credentials and an interest in pursuing a career at P&G – this internship is for you!
For our internship roles, you will need to provide your own right to work in the UK for the full duration of your internship without requiring sponsorship from P&G. Note, this will require your right to work permission to be valid between 5th July 2027 to 24th September 2027 for a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
P&G is legally required to ensure all candidates have the right to work in the UK from Day 1 of their employment. All applicants will therefore be asked to provide evidence of their right to work at the conclusion of the recruitment process as a condition of employment.
The internship's duration is flexible as either 3 months or 6 months, with a start date of April or July 2027.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. At P&G we strive to build a culture where everyone feels welcome, included, and able to bring their full selves to work.
We champion social mobility and believe socio-economic status should not be a barrier to accessing job opportunities. That’s why in addition to this internship being paid, we offer provision of all the necessary technology and electronic equipment, access to a range of benefits, and financial support if you need to relocate for your internship - such as covering the cost of travel to your internship location.
