Mentor’s Information Technology department strategically supports our engineers and corporate staff in more than 80 offices and R&D centres around the globe. This position will be based out of Newbury in the UK and will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Install & support Emulator hardware at customer sites, OS Installations/upgrades on Veloce emulation/comodel hosts as well as Veloce PCI card installations, track service requests. Run remote diagnostics where applicable, carry spare hardware, replace failed boards, send failure reports to Veloce hardware backend team, liaise with customer on progress and status.
Pickup failed hub inventory, box and tag customer failed inventory and advice customer, administer Spares Inventory and emulator spares inventory in Cambridge.
Provide quarterly or on-demand inventory reports, reduce turnaround time for failed boards, advise customer on RMA process/procedure o Sync up with logistics team to support, support shipment of failed Hub inventory returns.
IT Systems Administration, assist Mentor colleagues in supporting server room infrastructure in the UK offices as required as well as providing desktop support to users throughout EMEA.
What do you need?
BS degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology or related field, coupled with exposure to Microsoft Windows and Office Tools and to Linux for installation, upgrades and driver installations.
Ability to generate and/or maintain test scripts and reporting tools, experience in conducting electronics firmware and OS updates, prior experience in the troubleshooting and repair of complex electronics hardware and strong understanding of electronic HW circuits and their functional performance.
Experience in installing electronics boards into compute servers and running tests to verify functionality.
Strong command of English, both written and verbal, the ability to follow technical directions and proven customer service skills.
Detailed technical analysis capability, Process-oriented thinking and experience in medium-large organisations with repeatable processes with the ability to understand how to run Manufacturing Test Software tools, and interpret results.
Experience in the handling of electronics parts and spares.
