An introduction to AWE.
We are looking to recruit graduates with or working towards degrees in Process, Building Services, Civil and Structural engineering. You will work alongside, and in conjunction with, a network of engineers of other disciplines, as well as other project and safety professionals, delivering modern facilities and infrastructure that support our ongoing future nuclear warhead programme. In so doing you will be contributing to creating the right environment, to support the through-life cycle of the nuclear warhead.
Our Engineers are involved right across AWE’s infrastructure project lifecycle from concept and feasibility to detail design, management and supervision of construction, commissioning and operation which interfaces strongly with Process Plant and Equipment. The level of involvement extends to the decommissioning and demolition of our buildings and associated infrastructure.
As a Building Services, Civil and Structural engineer at AWE you can expect to get involved in the management of Building Services, Civil, Structural and Architectural design including, conventional, nuclear, explosive and seismic buildings and structures, utilities / building services and infrastructure and geotechnics.
As a Process engineer, you can expect to be involved in developing safety analysis and mitigation that demonstrate the control of risk from Process Plant and Equipment hazards within high hazard and conventional workplace environment.
