Your role:

You’ll join friendly and supportive teams where you will collaborate with world-leading professionals. Your curiosity and problem-solving skills will be applied to projects that will impact on the future of energy.

Being part of the Downstream Commercial Programme You'll play a vital part in strengthening Shell’s corporate reputation, building brand awareness, generating value across our global supply chain and supporting our business goals. It’s an exciting, ever-changing and challenging working environment that cuts across all areas of our operations, from refining oil and gas to selling our products to businesses and customers.

At Shell, we are committed to developing talented people who want to push boundaries in whichever field they work in. The Shell Graduate Programme offers a solid foundation and essential broad experience tailored to nurturing your future as a professional and commercial leader.

Roles in this programme are varied. As part of the three-year programme, you will perform in two different roles across two of our Downstream Businesses. Businesses you could be working in are Retail, Trading, Global Commercial, Chemicals and New Energies. Examples of roles are:

  • Business Analyst
  • Account Manager
  • Marketing Manager
  • Territory Manager
  • Project Manager.

In each area you can expect to receive world-class coaching, invaluable mentoring, formal structured training and regular in-depth progress checks to ensure you’re on track to reaching your potential. Staff networks, including Energie (a UK network for recent graduates), provide a wide range of social events and access to colleagues from across the business at all levels.

Working across two 18-month rotations will provide you with on-the-job insight into various teams within your chosen business area. Your responsibilities could include implementing global projects, providing country reports, developing proposals to improve processes or managing external suppliers.

Your Background:

The Downstream Commercial Graduate Programme suits graduates from a wide range of Social Sciences and Engineering courses. You should be have obtained or be studying towards a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
