Tell us about your role at ASMPT.
I am an associate mechanical engineer, I work in the SOKO team which provide custom solutions to customers.
Tell us about your career progression timeline. Including when you started, and how long you've been at ASMPT.
I started at ASMPT 3 years ago as a placement student. Towards the end of my placement I was retained on the graduate retention scheme. I returned to work in July 2023 and was made a permanent employee in September last year.
What is your favourite part of working at ASMPT? What do you enjoy most about your role?
You get to work on some really interesting projects from day one, you are supported stepping into a new role and there is a great collaborative atmosphere.
Tell us about the opportunities for advancements and development within ASMPT
The job descriptions in Engineering have been restructured to align with the engineering councils requirements for incorporation which will make my path towards an incorporated engineer even easier.
How has ASMPT helped you in your career progression?
I am currently working with my manager to complete a gap analysis. This will identify the areas I need to improve to be promoted to an engineer, its a very transparent process.
How does ASMPT support work life balance?
I love the flexible working policy at ASMPT, if I bank some hours during the week I can finish early on Friday and head down to the beach! You can vary your start time as well depending on what suits your lifestyle, for me I like to go to the business subsidised gym before work and start a little later.
What are some of the benefits that ASMPT provided throughout your role?
There are some great benefits, I enjoy having the option to work from home when I need to focus. The summer and Christmas parties are amazing. I love the subsidised gym membership and the clubs put on by the sports and social committee.
What is it like living in Weymouth?
Weymouth is a beautiful place surrounded by some amazing countryside, living here offers some great opportunities to get outdoors and try new things, as well as getting to meet some great people.

My advice for potential applicants would be to do your research about the company and be yourself!
