The programme curriculum goes beyond the minimum entitlement of Initial Teacher Training (ITT) content to ensure trainees not only gain Qualified Teacher Status and a PGCE at the end of the training year, but become the very best teacher they can be for a long and rewarding career.
Unlike a university-based PGCE, you’ll be based in a school from day one. Not only does this mean you’ll be making a difference from your very first day, but you’ll also be able to watch your students grow over an entire academic year and see your development alongside them.
There is a wide range of components to the programme that make up your training year’s structure. This includes Ark Teacher Training’s highly-rated Summer School, weekly training sessions in professional or subject studies, an in-school curriculum, placements in different schools and pastoral support when needed.
The support you receive from Ark Teacher Training doesn’t stop when you graduate. We’re invested in your development and progress as an individual to ensure that you not only gain your teacher training qualification, but that you establish a rewarding career with Ark for life. Many of our former trainees have even progressed to middle leadership within a few years.

The Early Career Teacher programme builds on the content a teacher receives in their initial training year with high-quality professional learning, including termly training sessions and training days.
Throughout this programme, teachers are supported by a dedicated in-school ECF Leader and Coach to ensure they successfully pass their induction period and continue to impact the classroom positively.
In addition to the Early Career Teacher programme, there are plenty of other opportunities and development programmes available to teachers in the Ark network.
