Candidates must already hold or be on track to achieve a minimum of a 2:2 BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering, Structural Fire Engineering, Fire Risk Engineering or Fire Safety Management or in other Engineering disciplines (such as Structural or Mechanical Engineering) with fire specific modules (or other similar fire related subjects) approved for CEng status by a body registered with the Engineering Council (e.g. IFE/IEI/CIBSE) or EU equivalent.
As a graduate, your programme will be made up of up to eight placements. We understand that everyone’s career is different, so every graduate’s journey is unique.
You’ll be working on projects understanding the design of multi-disciplines including fire, mechanical, electrical, comms, system design and also the interfaces with fire.
You’ll get experience in working on construction sites with construction teams to learn about construction emergency management, installation of fire related systems and other systems having interface with fire.
And you will also understand the procedure of station operation and train driver’s operation procedure, especially emergency procedure.
In five years, you will have achieved incorporated or chartered status. This could open up opportunities to be a Senior Engineer responsible for delivering key engineering solutions. Some graduates have gone on to lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers delivering key projects, transforming how TfL operates and directly improving the experience of the travelling public
