Transformation

Decarbonisation, Digitalisation and Urban Dynamics are transforming the way we live, work and do business. Osborne Clarke is at the forefront of these drivers of change with dedicated Transformation teams to help manage risk and exploit opportunities by:

  • advising on how the changing legal landscape will affect organisations;
  • navigating complex laws when shifting to new business models and strategies; and
  • facilitating and acting on projects, transactions and investments to help achieve sustainable targets.

Decarbonisation

Climate change poses a significant challenge to our planet, our personal lives and our businesses. International bodies and governments across the globe are setting net zero emissions goals, putting the onus on all of us - corporates and individuals - to make significant changes.

Decarbonisation is the route to meeting these goals. As with all profound changes there are legal risks and commercial opportunities to be understood and seized.

Digitalisation

Right now, there’s probably at least one area of every business that's facing transformative change driven by technology or digital risk. Disruption has become a business norm - not so much “is change happening?” but rather “how quickly, and across how many areas?” Such fast-paced and often wholesale change can cause as many issues as it’s trying to solve.

We work with businesses to use their comprehensive understanding of their sector and the legal implications of digitalisation to solve the problems that their business is facing today. And to help them prepare for the problems and opportunities they'll face tomorrow.

Urban Dynamics

The vast majority of businesses operate in and benefit from the urban environment. We're here to help negotiate the legal challenges businesses face as our cities change.

Before the Covid 19 pandemic, two-thirds of the world's population were expected to live in urban areas by 2050. Even if "urbanisation" looks likely to be more of an ebb and flow than an absolute - and plenty of commentators feel absolute urban growth will continue unabated over this period - cities will remain the important engine rooms of our economic growth and productivity.
