RBS International is a wholesale bank operating under five leading brands – RBS International, NatWest International, Isle of Man Bank, Coutts Crown Dependencies, and NatWest TDS.
RBS International is headquartered in Jersey, with a presence in Guernsey, the Isle of Man, Gibraltar, Luxembourg, Edinburgh and London. Our graduate programme for 2019 will be based in Jersey, but opportunity to travel around our business may be possible if your role requires it.
Living and working in Jersey enables you to build a fantastic career, while benefitting from the work life balance here on the island; with shorter commutes and stunning scenery to relax in.
As part of our Graduate cohort, you’ll get the opportunity to work with colleagues from across our jurisdictions and you’ll have exposure to customers in the Retail, Private and Corporate sectors, giving you an insight into how banking supports every part of life. You’ll also get to spend time in the teams that support our customer facing colleagues to deliver an outstanding banking service to each of our customers every day.
RBS International has its own Board of Directors and Management Team, meaning you’ll also gain exposure to our executive committee; a unique opportunity to learn from colleagues at the top of our business. Our size and reach means you can expect exposure across a range of projects and initiatives on top of your everyday role, giving you the chance to develop at a fast pace.
If you join us, you’ll be working with talented people to make a real contribution to the bank we’re becoming.
Your graduate experience will take you across three different areas of work:
Gaining experience in all these areas is important because you’ll build a well rounded skill set so, after your two years, you’ll be prepared for a wide range of career options that’ll be open to you.
The aim of the two year programme is to equip you with the skills and experiences you’ll need to become a leading professional in RBS International. You’ll be rewarded with a competitive salary of £30,090 and access to our flexible benefits package. After a full induction, the programme is structured around a number of rotations around the business. We’ll be supporting your career development throughout, but particularly during your last rotation we’ll focus on what roles you could step into next. This programme would be excellent preparation for a whole range of career paths, and at the end of the two years, we hope to see you join us in a permanent role.
We pride ourselves on the professional support we offer our graduates. Before you start, you’ll be paired with a ‘buddy’ (a graduate already on the programme) who’ll be there to help you get settled, answer any questions, and share their experiences.
Your Graduate Coach will be there to provide support throughout the programme, and will work with you to create a Personal Capability Plan. Together, they’ll help you reflect on your progress, develop your career, and build your professional network.
You’ll need to be on course for, or already have achieved, a 2:2 in your STEM degree. We’re a varied business, and you don’t need to be studying a particular subject to succeed. But we will be looking out for people who can demonstrate:
