Job Description

Bosch Engineering GmbH is a subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH operating internationally. Our service areas include drive systems, motor sports, e-mobility, E/E integration, test services, process consultation, sensor systems, and safety and comfort areas.

With a dynamic team, we develop customised solutions for sports cars and commercial vehicles, as well as for vehicles from the power sport, aviation, and watercraft areas, based on innovative, high-tech products from Bosch.

As an Intern Motorsport Engineer within the team, you will be responsible for:

  • Assist current Motorsport Engineers in technical support and project coordination for customers.
  • Extra support to the customer with troubleshooting, system start up, test and possibility of racetrack support.
  • Aiding the Engineers with commercial processes and the acquisition of new projects.
  • System design for Motorsport projects on the engine and chassis sides.
  • Configuration of the Bosch Motorsport electronics (display, body computer, logging system).
  • Calibration of ECU/VCU and other Bosch Motorsport hardware.

Qualifications

  • Studying for an undergraduate or Master's degree and required to take a placement as part of your course.
  • Studying Automotive, motorsport or mechanical engineering degree (Achieving 2:1or higher).
  • Knowledge of engine hardware, combustion theory and thermodynamics for high-performance engines.
  • Knowledge of direct injection and spark topics.
  • Knowledge of network communication (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, Etc).
  • Good presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Assertiveness, ready to work under pressure and good organisation.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Readiness to travel in UK and worldwide, readiness to work on weekends.

Additional Information

This is a 12-month internship beginning in July 2027. This position is open to undergraduate students who are eligible to partake in a work placement as part of their university course.

Location: you will be based at the Nuneaton office.

As an Intern at Bosch, you will participate in an exclusive learning and development programme called the BUILD Programme designed to support you through your internship journey. It includes a mixture of in-person and virtual sessions on topics including Effective Communication and Leading Myself provided by expert external trainers.

Interview Process and Right to Work Information:

Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to participate in a face-to-face interview by the hiring team and/or an online assessment centre.

You must have the right to live and work in the UK when you start your placement and for the full duration of your placement. Please note your placement must be directly relevant to your course to comply with visa requirements.

Before attending an interview for this position you must inform your Faculty/School Placement Officer and we strongly suggest you check you are eligible for a placement before you apply. If your Faculty/School does not have a Placement Officer, you must inform your course tutor.
