Business Unit Description

We currently have an opportunity for a Graduate Traffic Engineer within our Highways Team based in Shrewsbury. The successful person will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.

Primary Job Responsibilities

As a Graduate Traffic Engineer, you will support a team of Consultants and Project Managers working on a variety of projects which encompass strategic, local and micro-simulation modelling, junction design and innovative new infrastructure for buses, cyclists and pedestrians with input from feasibility through to detailed design.

For this role we require candidates to have an accredited, numerate 2:1 Honours Degree in a relevant subject (or an equivalent postgraduate, for example Mathematics, Geography or Economics. We will also expect:

  • Strong Mathematical skills.
  • Strong Computer software skills.
  • Strong team working capabilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Focus on results and project delivery.


  • MSc in Transport Planning. 
  • Previous work experience in transport industry.
  • An interest in developing Project Management skills.
