We have fifty years of experience across the complete nuclear asset lifecycle, from managing existing facilities or closing a legacy asset, to helping build next-generation nuclear systems. Our team also offers an extensive range of capabilities to defence agencies, supporting operational mission planning and execution, acquisition and logistics management, information technology and business operations.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Produce project design deliverables such as Bills of Quantity, Technical Bid Analysis Reports, Equipment sizing calculations; Basis of Design; Material requisitions; Equipment Lists, Line Lists under supervision of more senior personnel.
Plan and prioritise own work to ensure that functional project requirements with respect to scope, time, safety and cost are met.
Ensure that work complies with all necessary corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is maintained taking into account any special contractual requirement. Seeks advice from more experienced or specialist resources as required.
Work and effectively communicate within a team environment and with peers from other disciplines along with project management, both within Jacobs and that of Clients.
Take personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects, and demonstrating this by example.

Hold (or working toward) an accredited degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent), at first or upper second class
Please note that for this position candidates will be required to obtain UK Security Clearance (some limitations may apply to non UK Nationals and where individuals have not resided in the UK for all of the last 5 years)
Strong analytical skills, a sound understanding of structural theory, and an interest in solving problems from first principles
An interest in the Nuclear & Defence industry
Drive and motivation to become a chartered engineer with IStructE or ICE
A clear communication style, proven team working skills and a strong customer focus
An understanding of structural dynamics, including earthquake engineering, blast, and impact load effects
An understanding of finite element analysis techniques
