The Service

Strategic Advisory work with clients to understand their issues and create innovative, ground breaking solutions. We start with the issue, rather than an end point, and look to work with stakeholders to fully understand all the drivers and come up with a range of solutions. Although we are part of a construction and consultancy business many of our solutions don’t involve buildings and we work with a wide range of clients from across industries.

Our main areas of focus are on:

  • Strategic planning
  • Risk and assurance
  • People and Place (usually public sector clients)
  • Central Government Departments
  • Large corporate clients.

The work we do is very varied – from blue sky strategic thinking through to detailed planning so we can offer a wide variety of experiences as part of the Graduate Programme. As part of this role you need to be flexible in your thinking, transferring between futuristic ideas to analysing complex data.

Innovation: Moving to Industry 4.0

The Role

As a graduate, you will work closely with clients and consultants delivering projects through all stages of the lifecycle from inception to delivery and evaluation. We are looking for candidates who see their future career path being in consultancy rather than a specific technical discipline.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Working with clients to establish their needs
  • Using your own creative and critical thinking skills to vision solutions
  • Forming positive relationships with clients and stakeholders to get the best out of the project and fulfil the clients’ needs.
  • Researching particular areas, either subject matter or geography
  • Preparing tender documents
  • Contributing to the project plan and ensuring all the project documentation is in place and reviewed regularly
  • Working closely with the project team and cost managers to ensure all strategies implemented work effectively and efficiently.
  • Monitoring project progress and preparing progress reports to update relevant parties
  • Monitoring and reporting on budgets and cash flow
  • Monitoring any potential risks to the project and looking for mitigations where possible
  • Monitoring and reviewing of health and safety practices
  • Providing general support and assistance to the Consultants.

You will gain exposure to a range of functions within strategic advisory services and will be working with clients from day one. As part of a small supportive team we will work with you to plan out your future career pathway.

Minimum requirements

  • A minimum 2.1 undergraduate degree (expected or obtained). We are open to the subject studied but you must be able to demonstrate your commitment to our ethos and values
  • Grade C in GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications).
